TheFatherLife.com: OSBURN ON TAP: Crafty New Year

If you haven’t guessed from my previous articles, I’m not a big fan of the giant beer conglomerates. I’m no beer snob though; I understand the purpose they serve and I have thrown back a few tall boys of Miller High Life in my day. I have however, written negative articles referencing the evils of yellow, fizzy, water beers on several occasions. It’s ok if that’s your thing, but please don’t let that be the farthest you delve into the world of beer-dom...

TheFatherLife.com: [NFL] Championship Weekend Preview

Wow, I need to send out a ginormous apology to all of my readers. I have done a downright terrible job picking the outcome of these games. So far, due in large part to my (not-so) spectacular analysis of each side, I’m 1-7 (the lone correct pick was Baltimore over Miami in the wildcard round). It’s a pretty good bet that whoever I pick for the Superbowl won’t be anywhere near Tampa on February 1st. So it’s best to read my predictions and assume the opposite. I guess this proves how wacky the playoffs have been...

NLLinsider.com: Knighthawks look better, but still not good enough to beat Titans.

Instead of panic at the disco, this might be more like panic at the Blue Cross Arena. Trying to break out of a four-game skid dating back to last season, Rochester took on New York on Saturday night in an extremely important National Lacrosse League match. But, the game ended with the same results as the previous four, with the Knighthawks emerging still winless and a nasty goose egg in the win column. The Titans won an extremely defensive 8-7 game in front of 6,739 restless fans...

NLLinsider.com: Knighthawks remain confident.

The Rochester Knighthawks kicked off their 2009 season at home on Saturday night against the Philadelphia Wings in front of 7,422 eager spectators. This was more than just the first game of the season for Rochester. Countless storylines swirled around the arena long before the opening faceoff. From the return of Gary Gait to the National Lacrosse League, to the long overdue arrival of Joe Walters, to the quick hiring of Paul Gait after Paul Suggate vacated the post just weeks ago, to say the Knighthawks have had a chaotic off season is a giant understatement...

TheFatherLife.com: [NFL] Divisional Playoffs Preview

Wildcard weekend lived up to the hype. Both Saturday games went down to the wire. Arizona, in its first home game since 1947, took down the young Falcons 30-24. San Diego won the coin toss in overtime and defeated Indianapolis, 23-17, on a Darren Sproles 22 yard touchdown run. Never before have I been surer that the NFL needs to institute the same overtime the NCAA uses. Even though experts will tell you that if you win the overtime coin toss you are only 52% likely to win the game, it still doesn’t seem fair to me. I don’t like that a coin flip can pretty much decide if a team moves on in the post season...

TheFatherLife.com: NFL: Wildcard Weekend

It seems like opening day was just mere weeks ago, but, after 17 weeks of NFL football, the regular season has ended. After a very hectic final weekend of play, all the playoff teams are finally set. Rarely are we treated to so many spots coming down to the wire. The Dolphins, Ravens, Chargers, Vikings, Falcons and Eagles all punched their tickets to the post season while the Patriots, Jets, Broncos, Saints, Cowboys and Buccaneers were all left out of the party...
